Notes:	9/22/2004: Jeannette's still teaching, but is recuperating from back surgery. Coach Hall has been playing nurse and doing a good job of it, according to Jeannette. A decision will be made in Feb. of '05 on whether QHS will close at the end of the school year. 8/20/2001: Greg, Congratulations on the new grandson. Hope all are fine. We gave out information about the reunion yesterday at the faculty meeting at old QHS. I also told several elementary teachers who were previously at the high school and they are interested. A newly hired aide at Ashurst Elementary was one of my students and she is interested. All have the website address. A Marine stationed on base called and said his wife went to school there and he wanted information. I requested that the tech teacher put a link to your site on the Quantico High School site and he will do that in the next several days. Is there anything else that I can do to help at this time? Barry and I think we will show the antique car at Hershey on Saturday and leave when we are dismissed at 3 PM and head back to Virginia so if it is ok with you we will get there as soon as we can but will not attend the dinner. There is a huge crowd at the show so it is a slow process getting away from there, loading it on the trailer and making the trip back. We cannot give up our reservations and will take the loss on Saturday night. Let us know when you will arrive on Wed so Barry can visit you or we can get together that night if you have time. I'm back in northern Virginia and has it ever changed! I have in the last decade made a few major life changes. I remember when I was in Big Spring, Texas in the early 70's and you called me from a telephone pole. I think you organized a reunion back then that I had to miss because of a new baby. What are you up to these days? I live in Frisco, Texas, which is just north of Dallas. We moved here from Grand Rapids, Michigan about 3 years ago. I worked for a mortgage company which was expanding into Texas and they transferred me here. They closed down the Texas offices a year later, but we had just bought a home and didn't want to return to the snow. My husband Dale is a Captain with Midwest Express Airlines ("The Best Care in the Air") and his base is Milwaukee, so he has quite a commute. He is a golfer so he likes to live where the weather is nicer for golfing. I found a job with another mortgage company soon after my 1st layoff but was laid off again this August and decided to take a break from work for a while. The mortgage industry is very volatile! Notes:	1/22/2001: Hi Tim (McArtor), Yes, My sister Virginia (Jenny) and myself attended QPHS in 1959-1960. We then moved to Alexandria and attended Mount Vernon HS. I later attended Augusta Military Academy, VMI, and Humboldt State College in California. I spent two years in the Marines, and did a tour in Vietnam. Worked in Recreation, and Youth Probation Work until 1993 when I started my own business. I played football the year we were there (my freshman year) and mostly got the cr_p knocked out of me by Burna Hayden and the likes. All in all though, it was a great and fun time. I remember hanging out at the "teen hut" on weekends, and taking cotillion classes, and swimming at the O club pool. It was a lot of fun! If you need any more information, let me know. I am now living in Southern California and own a Recreation Service and Management Company (Professional Aquatic Safety Services) I manage a 35 acre lake, and provide Lifeguard and Swim Instruction to communities in three counties. Keeps me hopping. I am married to a lovely lady (Judy) who is the mother of our three Children. (Jessica 16, Ryan 10, and Nicole 3). My Dad retired about 20 years ago and lives with his wife in Laguna Niguel, about 45 miles from us. I would enjoy any updates or referrals to web sites that would take me back to the good old days! I'm the oldest of 7 and we were at Q from 63-69 (Navy) and after I graduated my family went to Lejeune, where all my sibs graduated. Ref reunions, there is an "all-classes" reunion planned for Oct 01, I believe to be at QHS. I joined Classmates in May and there was already lively discussion and voting going on. Ciao 1/17/2001: I had a heart attack in October, 1992 ...five bypasses. It was a life changing/recalibration event for me. You are free to publish this. I'm perfectly fine now and have been since my recovery. What are we really on this planet to do if it isn't to "be there" for each other. Vietnam experiences are another, very emotional topic. As much for those who didn't go as those who did. My wife, Jane a nice Catholic girl from Boston, just completed five years of being cancer free after months of intense chemo therapy, and by all accounts is on the road to full recovery. I graduated from Fallbrook H. S. in 1968 while living on lovely Camp Pendleton, which definitely not Quantico. Graduated from U. C. Santa Barbara 1972 and managed not to get drafted. Went to grad. school at Cal. State Univ. Chico and U. C. Davis and got to my M. A. candidacy in Regional Planning, but after I started to work, never got the M. A. degree. Oops. Over the years, I have lived in Fallbrook, Santa Barbara, Chico, San Francisco, and Seattle. I have been working in the environmental and planning field in both the public and private sectors for longer than I want to think about. I am now with the Port of San Diego, which is a great job and I am sure it will be my last one. I have kept contact with a few QHS folks and have run into quite a few more by complete accident. Please come visit us in Encinitas, about 20 miles up the coast from San Diego; it is quite nice here.
