I still remember the nice day trip we took over to St. Pete to visit with you and Bill Walt. When was that...seems like it was in the mid 80's??? My life has really changed since then! Merle (my ex,) decided he didn't want to be married anymore....this was about 95. He told me one morning that he was "selling the house and moving to the beach" And he did. I had finished nursing school and I suppose he felt I could make it on my own. Kevin (my oldest ) was still in North Carolina in school and Michael was attending UF...so we really did have alot to adjust to. I took a job in Orlando doing clinical research (drug studies) and got myself a condo. One of my blood pressure patients was living with his mother, she was dying with cancer. Formed one of the first all girl rock groups, the "Mademoiselles" (what were we thinking?). We had a great run, playing all the Western states, opening for Ike and Tina Turner (often) as well as major concerts (THE Monterey Pop Fest). 2 records, lots of TV, "Operation Entertainment" for ABC two seasons. After four years, we all started to get married and have kids which put an end to our rock careeers. WHEW! I transferred from O.C.C. to U.C.I. Fine Arts, opening a studio/gallery in Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa and Venice specializing in my photography and painting, my former husband's conceptual art and performance art. After a divorce 7 years later, I was left with full custody of my two kids in search of a way to support and re-build our lives. That's when I got my first job in a restaurant (I think to my parents' horror). I went from waitress to manager to advertising to chef and caterer. I met my husband, John, who owned a restaurant called The Orange Inn and we married in 1984. We have a son Alex, who along with my talented, goodlooking, wonderful, intelligent, well-adjusted kids (how did that happen?). AND, we have 3 extraordinary grandchildren. We now have 2 restaurants, one in Laguna Beach, and the other in Huntington Beach. We are extremely busy 7 days a week with in-house plus catering and event planning. We are all healthy and very happy. After I was done with my training, I was sent back to VA and I was stationed at QHs, CID Command in Fort Belvoir from '99-'02.
