Actually, for reasons that I cannot begin to understand, we have not been able to generate any traffic to LOOK at our house in Macon, GA much less contract it. Poor Jan has been there by herself for nearly three months now and it is about to drive her to an early grave. So, I made a career decision to resign here in KC and go back to Macon. I will be back at my Macon address on July 8 permanently (well, as permanently as anything is). I guess it is a good thing that at this point in my life I can make abrupt changes! Anyway, I will send you a detailed message later today or this week that you can share with the group. Bill 4/2/2001: Thought I would drop you a line and let you know that I have left Macon, GA and relocated to Kansas City. Jan is still in Macon, sitting on the house until it sells, but I had to be here on March 26. Just now getting the computers hooked up. I left Allied Mortgage which was becoming very untenable from a compliance and legality standpoint. I joined NovaStar Mortgage....which is a public traded company....At least there is a great internal structure and I have caught them on the upswing...they just set a company record for gross volume in loans this last month! I am going to be managing the operations and compliance, but in order to accept that position, I had to leave Georgia. Hopefully Jan will not be there by herself too long. We have not had much activity on the house sale yet and I am about to kick some Realtor butt this week! Lazy bastards! So far, so good. I had a long talk with Gene and Marty Leonard on Friday. I pulled up the web site and read them the long list of people and to say the least, Gene was floored. They did say that they were, for sure, coming to the reunion. Gene remembered something about everyone whose name I read to him. He may be inspired to buy a computer now (but Marty doubts it). Anyway, they said that Larry Walt remarried his first wife. Actually, for reasons that I cannot begin to understand, we have not been able to generate any traffic to LOOK at our house in Macon, GA much less contract it. Poor Jan has been there by herself for nearly three months now and it is about to drive her to an early grave. So, I made a career decision to resign here in KC and go back to Macon. I will be back at my Macon address on July 8 permanently (well, as permanently as anything is). I guess it is a good thing that at this point in my life I can make abrupt changes! Bill 4/2/2001: Thought I would drop you a line and let you know that I have left Macon, GA and relocated to Kansas City. Jan is still in Macon, sitting on the house until it sells, but I had to be here on March 26. Just now getting the computers hooked up. I left Allied Mortgage which was becoming very untenable from a compliance and legality standpoint. I joined NovaStar Mortgage....which is a public traded company....At least there is a great internal structure and I have caught them on the upswing...they just set a company record for gross volume in loans this last month! I am going to be managing the operations and compliance, but in order to accept that position, I had to leave Georgia. Hopefully Jan will not be there by herself too long. We have not had much activity on the house sale yet and I am about to kick some Realtor butt this week! Lazy bastards! So far, so good. I had a long talk with Gene and Marty Leonard on Friday. I pulled up the web site and read them the long list of people and to say the least, Gene was floored. They did say that they were, for sure, coming to the reunion. He and I got along pretty well, but he was a wild kid. I always thought I was a good influence on him! I guess he had some rough stuff in his life then that I never knew about...I guess his Dad beat him pretty good once in awhile. His parents got divorced late in life and then she died in a car accident. His sister got into drugs and wrapped up with a weirdo who shot and killed her and then killed himself. Then one of his sons was shot to death by a guy who got caught and said he just wanted to see what it was like to kill somebody! He simply picked John's son out at random. Susan WAS a sweetheart, wasn't she? To tell you the truth, I did a net search on her some months ago! I came up with zero. To tell you more truth, I did another one today after getting your message. Judy Wilkes may be dead from a drug overdose. She was pretty radical, but quite attractive. She and I were pretty tight. Speaking of which, what about Janice Bradley? Remember her? Holy Moly: you're making me exercise long-dormant synapses here. Doug Crockett has got to be a double PhD somewhere....actually, I recall having heard many, many years ago that he became a lawyer. I always figured he was a true genius. I have some recollection of a relationship between him and Linda Hornstein. Do you have an old Boondocker or not? I didn't look for mine yet, but I know I could find it if I put my mind to it. It is most definitely among my "stuff." I'll send a couple of more pictures with this message. I have to go dig up the floppies. They'll be from this Fall and will feature pictures on my 1.0 acre...and maybe one or two of me. Send me another picture of you. We look forward to seeing as many old friends as possible in October. 12/13/2000: Miscellaneous info.: From Pat: I graduated from Virginia Tech in 70. Flew helicopters in the Marine Corps until 1982 when I resigned to become a famous writer, though I stayed in the reserves and retired in 1991. Richness and famousity eluded me as a freelance writer, so I took a job in 1988 with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, where I do a lot of writing and am called an Outreach Coordinator. Debbie Waltz (also QHS 66) graduated in 1970 from University of Kansas. She and I were married in 1970 and we have two children, Heather 27 and Corky 23 as well as a one-year-old granddaughter, Madison, from Heather and her husband, Bodie. Deb raised the kids when they were young, then took a job as a church secretary while I was freelancing. She went back to school, got a teaching degree and has been an elementary school teacher since 1990. We have been active foster parents for the last 10 years but are looking forward to settling down by ourselves together, soon. I'm afraid we've lost touch with our high school friends but we're looking forward to reconnecting.

He and I got along pretty well, but he was a wild kid. I always thought I was a good influence on him! I guess he had some rough stuff in his life then that I never knew about...I guess his Dad beat him pretty good once in awhile. His parents got divorced late in life and then she died in a car accident. His sister got into drugs and wrapped up with a weirdo who shot and killed her and then killed himself. Then one of his sons was shot to death by a guy who got caught and said he just wanted to see what it was like to kill somebody! He simply picked John's son out at random. Susan WAS a sweetheart, wasn't she? To tell you the truth, I did a net search on her some months ago! I came up with zero. To tell you more truth, I did another one today after getting your message. Judy Wilkes may be dead from a drug overdose. She was pretty radical, but quite attractive. She and I were pretty tight. Speaking of which, what about Janice Bradley? Remember her? Holy Moly: you're making me exercise long-dormant synapses here. Doug Crockett has got to be a double PhD somewhere....actually, I recall having heard many, many years ago that he became a lawyer. I always figured he was a true genius. I have some recollection of a relationship between him and Linda Hornstein. Do you have an old Boondocker or not? I didn't look for mine yet, but I know I could find it if I put my mind to it. It is most definitely among my "stuff." I'll send a couple of more pictures with this message. I have to go dig up the floppies. They'll be from this Fall and will feature pictures on my 1.0 acre...and maybe one or two of me. Send me another picture of you.
